Little help please!

Post by Stu1985pants »

:D
Has anybody got a stock silencer and chain guard for a ktm 500?450 may fit too. I'm trying to sort out a roadworthy for mine. Any stock roady items would be great! Lend?buy?borrow?steal?swap?sexual favours?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My VOR failed the noise test when new.
Removed the muffler & shoved a steel-mesh kitchen scouring-pad in the pipe.
Ran like crap; yet passed the noise test.
It probably-about halved-horsepower output for those 15 minutes of running: Which was an unexpected bonus-boon.
Edit: 'NHS' on your tyres? Dremel, razor-blade or scalpel that pious judgement.

Stainless mesh. Tick.
Tyres. Tick.
May have to make a chain guard. Hmm

Re. The missing-lacking a chain-guard...
Do you mean a nylon-slider or a cover?
Trailer-it to there; it's solely a bush-bike.

No-pillion peg/option; cover no-need?
I don't bodgy-up; which-isn't certified...
That's just asking for trouble/scorn imo.

Cop 2nd inspection-fee via 2nd pedant.
Have a reflector & mirror etc. bolted-on:
So-then no excuse/incentive to whinge.

With regards to my car's inspections:-
I inform the inspector (b4 inspection)...
If it's to-be failed; for whatever reason...

That/their/this same-person/company won't be employed/payed to rectify any shortcomings under any circumstances.

Ok, so I've got everything sorted, except for the exhaust! My friendly rwc guy says as long as any catalytic converters are in place and its not too loud he'll pass it. Hmm. Not sure if mine had a cat?
Again, pleeeease, anyone with a stock exhaust from 19 to 23? Lend? Sell? Help!

Did you try steel-mesh in-the pipe?
Steel-wool fibres; held-in by mesh?

Edit: Cat' look-is second-muffler prior.
Google an/the/it/a photo; suss-it out.

Edit2: If your pipe is obscenely loud:
Replace it: Have courtesy & respect.

Edit3: My prior three bikes were 45HP+
I advocate stealth... 4HP wank-loudly?

Edit4: When I said pipe; I meant such.
When I said muffler; that'd be re. that.

And I agree, loud wanking pipe is not cool.

As said: VOR failed noise-test as new.
That should have been noise-passed.

ie. It should already-be ADR compliant.
Methinks next-to brick-wall put-it over.

Edit: Do keep us informed Stu1985pants.
We'll see it-out to-it's blown-conclusion.

Well, silencers are in the pipe. Dropped it off at my friendly little bike guy. Hoping for a good outcome Monday.
